Dr. Lucas Fogaca

Dentistry has been Dr. Lucas' dream since he was 6 years old. He grew up in Brazil and remembers visiting his orthodontist who would let him play with materials used for daily dentistry. Since then he worked towards that dream and graduated from High Point University with a degree in Biology. He then proceeded to UNC Chapel Hill School of Dentistry, where he was awarded his DDS degree with Distinction. Dr. Lucas always wanted to have his own practice and be able to treat his patients with kindness and fairness. In 2024 he achieved that goal by taking over Dr. Hal Nicholson's practice. 

Dr. Lucas' ultimate carreer goal is to help patients keep their teeth for a lifetime in a state of health, esthetics and function. He feels like he can do that by spending quality time with his patients to really figure out their goals and desires. One of his favorite sayings is: "you can never fit one person's treatment plan in another person's mouth". In his eyes it takes time to build trust and develop a good plan for each patient.

Wilmington has always been his home since moving from Brazil. He enjoys spending his free time fishing, surfing, foiling and relaxing at Mason's Inlet with his friends and family.
